By joining Intel’s green software initiative, I played a pivotal role in advancing sustainable software practices, leading UX research, design, and development efforts when leadership stepped away to commit to the Green Software Foundation. I founded the Green Software Practitioners Community to raise awareness, creating presentations and visual concepts that clarified the impact of green software features, helping audiences understand how simple changes can significantly reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Green software is an emerging and complex field, and there is a critical need to raise awareness about its impact on climate change. As leadership transitioned to focus on the Green Software Foundation, the challenge was to continue driving the message and educating others on integrating sustainability into software development.
Stepping in when leadership shifted their focus to the Green Software Foundation, I led the green software team at Intel, conducting UX research and creating design concepts that illustrated the benefits of green software. I established the Green Software Practitioners Community to educate and engage the wider audience, using demos and visual aids to make the complex topic accessible. My work emphasized the importance of sustainable features and their potential to reduce the environmental footprint of digital products.
