The redesign of the performance recognition process and the development of new HR tools significantly improved employee engagement and streamlined internal processes. The My Insights tool transformed a 40-year-old performance review system into a modern, continuous feedback process, achieving an 85% employee satisfaction score and earning the Intel Achievement Award in 2020. Additionally, the executive feedback tool replaced outdated email and Excel methods with a mobile-first solution, enhancing efficiency and usability for leadership promotions.
HR faced challenges with outdated performance recognition practices and inefficient tools for talent management and promotion voting. The existing processes, some dating back 40 years, were cumbersome and did not support modern, continuous feedback or effective talent management.
I inherited the performance recognition redesign project and continued its development by conducting user testing, iterating on designs, and collaborating with executive leadership and engineering teams. Following this, I designed a UI for talent succession planning and a streamlined tool for collecting and voting on leadership promotions. Throughout these projects, I employed various UX methods, including journey mapping, interactive prototyping, and user feedback, to ensure that the new tools met the needs of employees and executives while achieving high engagement and satisfaction.
